What is it?
Taxi and PHV drivers in England and Wales are often the first contact to a region for tourists and visitors and act as ambassadors for that region. However, many rarely receive the recognition they deserve for the essential service that they provide.
There is now a nationally recognized qualification available for self employed taxi and PHV drivers that introduce a recognised level of skills and competency. This ensures taxi drivers have the required level of underpinning knowledge to perform the job to a high standard and raise the profile and image of the role in the process. More and more Licensing authorities across the country are now recognising the qualification and encouraging Taxi drivers to take advantage of the qualification as a requirement.
